Description
The Pot a Confiture grand is a remake of antique jam jars that were used before screw lids were invented. Women used to make jam with the fruits in their orchard and they would seal the top of the handmade pot a confiture with a wax coat to preserve the jam. This wax coat was then covered by a cloth material and a ribbon was tied around the lip of the handblown jar. This is why our pot a confiture has this shape with the large lip. Today, you can fold some bees wrap over to cover it, then tie a little string around it. Do you like a lot of Jam? In France we have jam on our baguette every morning so we had to make a Pot à Confiture Grand to hold enough jam for our long Sunday breakfasts. But, don’t just stop at breakfast use it for mixing your vinaigrette, serving appetizers, storing leftover food, or serving your tiramisu or favorite dessert. Need it slightly smaller? Take a look at the Pot à Confiture jar. Made from one hundred percent recycled glass and is mouth blown by our artisans.
These are entirely made by hand and each creation is unique. Therefore, there may be a slight variation in color, texture, and size between each piece. On the base of each item, you can feel the pontil mark left by the glassblower’s cane. The presence of this mark indicates that the glass was blown freehand. This is the beauty of handmade.
The Pot à Confiture Grand is available in transparent.
