Angelo Glass Vert Fumé is a unique and eye-catching drinking glass is crafted from one of these plaster pieces in the shape of a monk’s head. The original plaster piece has been transformed into a functional piece of drinkware, creating a perfect blend of art and functionality.
Years ago, Sebastien (one of our founders) was lucky to work on a restoration project of the Saint Sulpice Church in Paris. He found a number of plaster heads that were about 200 years old in the basement of the church and was able to keep some of them. These pieces were made with a technique used at the time of Rodin. We have been offering these very special pieces, cast from moulds made from the original sculptures of the Saint Sulpice Church in Paris for a while now and have decided to work them in glass.
The exterior of the glass features intricate details that highlight the character of the facial features. Of the monk. The interior of the glass is smooth and allows for easy cleaning and a great drinking experience.
The glass has a solid base that provides stability and is also the perfect size for a standard drink, making it a great addition to any home bar or kitchen.
The ‘Angelo Glass Vert Fumé’ is perfect for those who love unique and unconventional pieces that make a statement. It is also a great gift for anyone who appreciates art and functionality in their home decor.
These are entirely made by hand and each creation is unique. Therefore, there may be a slight variation in color, texture, and size between each piece. On the base of each item, you can feel the pontil mark left by the glassblower’s cane. The presence of this mark indicates that the glass was blown freehand. This is the beauty of handmade.
Angelo Glass is also available in framboise.
