Description
Rotonda – meaning round in Italian. Rotonda has a generous round body to her. She is a symbol of the voluptuous Italian women seen in the 1950s’ Italian movies. This carafe was inspired by Giorgio Morandi, a famous still life Italian painter born in Bologna at the end of the 20th century. Morandi painted using oil paints to create still life compositions with bottles, carafes, and everyday objects. As a painter herself, Valentina was inspired by Morandi to create a series of simple minimalist objects in handblown glass, crafted for your everyday use. Rotonda is made of one hundred percent recycled glass and is mouth blown by our artisans. Use Rotonda as a carafe, decanter, bud vase, or recreate your own still life painting with several pieces such as Giorgio, Morandi and Levico.
These are entirely made by hand and each creation is unique. Therefore, there may be a slight variation in color, texture, and size between each piece. On the base of each item, you can feel the pontil mark left by the glassblower’s cane. The presence of this mark indicates that the glass was blown freehand. This is the beauty of handmade.
The Rotonda carafe is available in transparent.
